[ R obert] Layer and Ingrid Bergman met and fell in love in Paris in 1945. In early 1946, Capa followed her to Hollywood where he photographed the shooting of two films: the great Alfred Hitchcock thriller Notorious and Arc de Triomphe, a steamy melodrama set in Paris during the war led by Lewis Milestone.
